Synonyms

Triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2, TREM2, TREM-2

Source

Human TREM2 (19-157) Protein, Fc Tag (TR2-H5258) is expressed from human 293 cells (HEK293). It contains AA His 19 - His 157 (Accession # Q9NZC2-1).

Predicted N-terminus: His 19

Molecular Characterization

This protein carries a human IgG1 Fc tag at the C-terminus.

The protein has a calculated MW of 42.1 kDa. The protein migrates as 50-55 kDa when calibrated against Star Ribbon Pre-stained Protein Marker under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.

Endotoxin

Less than 1.0 EU per μg by the LAL method / rFC method.

Purity

>90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

Formulation

Lyophilized from 0.22 μm filtered solution in 50 mM Tris, 100 mM Glycine, 25 mM Arginine, 150 mM NaCl, pH7.5 with trehalose as protectant.

Background

Triggering Receptor Expressed on Myeloid cells 2 (TREM2) is a pivotal cell-surface receptor primarily found on microglia in the brain and macrophages in peripheral tissues. Acting as a lipid and amyloid-beta sensor, it signals through the adapter protein DAP12 to regulate immune responses, cell survival, and phagocytosis. In neurobiology, TREM2 is a major focus because its dysfunction is strongly linked to Alzheimer’s disease progression and impaired clearance of neurotoxic plaques.
