Source

Biotinylated Human CNTF R alpha Protein, His,Avitag (CNR-H82Q3) is expressed from human 293 cells (HEK293). It contains AA Gln 23 - Pro 346 (Accession # P26992).

Predicted N-terminus: His

Molecular Characterization

This protein carries a polyhistidine tag at the N-terminus, followed by an Avi tag (Avitag™).

The protein has a calculated MW of 39.8 kDa. The protein migrates as 53-63 kDa when calibrated against Star Ribbon Pre-stained Protein Marker under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.

Labeling

Biotinylation of this product is performed using Avitag™ technology. Briefly, the single lysine residue in the Avitag is enzymatically labeled with biotin.

Protein Ratio

Passed as determined by the SABA assay / HABA assay / binding ELISA.

Purity

>90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

Formulation

Lyophilized from 0.22 μm filtered solution in PBS, pH7.4 with trehalose as protectant.

バックグランド

CNTF receptor alpha (CNTFR) is a specialized protein primarily expressed in the nervous system and skeletal muscle. Unlike many receptors, it lacks a transmembrane domain and anchors to the cell surface via a GPI linkage. It functions as a crucial signaling component that binds Ciliary Neurotrophic Factor, subsequently recruiting gp130 and LIFR to initiate the JAK/STAT pathway. This process is vital for promoting neuronal survival, guiding motor neuron development, and regulating muscle regeneration.
