Cadherin-16

Source

Human Cadherin-16 Protein, His Tag (CA6-H52H3) is expressed from human 293 cells (HEK293). It contains AA Lys 19-Ala 786 (Accession # O75309-1).

Predicted N-terminus: Lys 19

Molecular Characterization

This protein carries a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.

The protein has a calculated MW of 85.2 kDa. The protein migrates as 90-105 kDa when calibrated against Star Ribbon Pre-stained Protein Marker under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.

Endotoxin

Less than 1.0 EU per μg by the LAL method / rFC method.

Purity

>90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

Formulation

Lyophilized from 0.22 μm filtered solution in PBS, pH7.4 with trehalose as protectant.

バックグランド

CDH16, fully named Cadherin-16 (also known as KSP-cadherin), is a member of the calcium-dependent cadherin superfamily of cell adhesion proteins. It is specifically expressed in kidney proximal tubule epithelial cells, functioning as a key mediator of homotypic cell recognition and maintaining renal tubular structural integrity. Structurally, CDH16 consists of an extracellular domain with 6 cadherin repeats, a transmembrane region, and a truncated cytoplasmic domain, lacking the typical HAV adhesion recognition sequence of classical cadherins.
